Landing Egret

Apparently everyone really “likes” this image. I was surprised at the response on Facebook, but it was nice to see!

  1. Wow, Angela! This has a ghostly quality, as though it is the spirit of all the egrets slain for their plumes in the big bad days before preservation. Reading Douglas Brinkley on TR as Preservationist, and now on FDR, as well as Marjorie Stoneman Doublas’s “River of Grass” on the saving of the Everglades, this noble but vulnerable creature brings all those brave battles to life. Perhaps it is,– echoing an angel as it does–, thanking those who dare to save this poor beleaguered planet and its creatures. Thank you. c
